Les sujets, dotés de colliers peints, reposent sur de larges terrasses circulaires à profil plat. Sur le plan technique, l'œuvre illustre l'excellence des ateliers de dorure italiens du milieu du XXe siècle. Le bois est recouvert d'une dorure appliquée sur une assiette rouge (bol d'Arménie), créant un jeu de profondeur chaleureux. Les colliers et les bases présentent une finition argentée contrastant avec le corps de l'animal.
