Stitched Leather-Wrapped Champagne Bucket, Champagne Gauthier, 1970s
This champagne bucket adopts a slightly flared cylindrical shape with a metal vat entirely sheathed in two-tone leather. The tan leather body is framed by darker contrasting brown borders, firmly assembled with rigorous 'saddle' stitching. The upper lip reveals a gilded brass rim, matching the two dark-patinated lateral ring handles. The main face features an applied oval leather medallion, gold-stamped with the inscription 'CHAMPAGNE GAUTHIER EPERNAY'. Maison Gauthier, founded in 1858 in Épernay, was one of the historic and prestigious Champagne houses. Good overall condition with natural patina of use. This timeless bar accessory will bring a distinct 'Gentleman's Club' touch to a serving cart.
