DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This cage chandelier features a gilt metal structure in which each volute and each scroll is sheathed with threaded glass beads — the so-called beaded technique dear to Maison Baguès. Drops of turquoise blue and amethyst blown glass are suspended among the garlands of faceted beads, while the nozzles are dressed with scalloped glass corollas. A faceted crystal ball serves as a finial, the ceiling cap in a gilt foliate rosette crowning the whole.

This Italian work of the 1950s belongs to the great tradition of beaded chandeliers popularised by Maison Baguès, whose Italian workshops rendered the vocabulary with a wholly Mediterranean chromatic fantasy.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Beading quite complete on examination of the photograph, coloured drops in fine apparent condition, patinated gilding. Electricity checked by an electrician. A precious and poetic chandelier, the jewel of a bedroom, a boudoir or a refined entrance.
