DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This side table features a brass structure with fluted uprights, surmounted by pinecone finials and ending in small ball feet. The two rectangular tiers are entirely sheathed in tawny leather adorned with a gilt-tooled frieze as a border and a central medallion, in the great tradition of Parisian bookbinding and leather craftsmanship. The combination of fluted brass and gilt-tooled leather is characteristic of the productions of Maison Jansen, the great Parisian decorating house founded in 1880, supplier to the royal courts and to the most prestigious residences. These small occasional pieces, at once sober and precious, are among its most sought-after creations. Condition report: Good overall condition. Brass with a beautiful gilt patina, tawny leather showing an even patina of use with some superficial marks inherent to age, gilt tooling clearly legible. A warm side table, ideal beside a sofa or as a bedside table in a classic or contemporary interior.
