DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
Each armchair features a structure in blond natural wood entirely turned faux bamboo, with rings imitating the knots of the cane. The openwork back is adorned with a large X-shaped lattice centred with a turned disc, beneath a high rail with small bars and balls. The curved armrests receive fan-shaped radiating uprights, and the solid wooden seat rests on slightly sabre legs joined by turned stretchers.
This faux bamboo work, inherited from the taste for chinoiserie and popularised at the end of the 19th century, is characteristic of productions circa 1900 where exoticism mingles with bourgeois comfort — a spirit found among the bamboo and rattan furniture makers of the period.
Condition report: Good general condition. Natural wood with an even blond patina, sound and stable structures; some marks of use inherent to age. Seat cushions may be added according to taste. A charming pair, perfect in a conservatory, a bedroom or a sitting room of natural inspiration.
