DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
Each side table is composed of a bundle of bamboo stems bent into an hourglass, drawn in at mid-height by a twisted tie imitating rope, in the manner of a bound wheat sheaf. The stems blossom into a corolla upward and downward, and their horizontally cut sections draw on the circular top a paving of discs of the finest graphic effect. The whole is covered with a deep turquoise lacquer, subtly nuanced with blues and greens.
This wheat-sheaf model refers directly to the vocabulary of the Californian firm McGuire, famous since the 1950s for its high-quality bamboo and rattan furniture, whose "Wheat Sheaf" tables are among the most emblematic creations. The coloured lacquer, rare on this type of piece, gives them a singular decorative presence, between exoticism and neoclassical spirit.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Even lacquer showing a few localised rubbings from use, sound and stable structure. A pair full of character, ideal framing a sofa or as occasional tables in a drawing room with bohemian accents.
