Tripod Brass Guéridon with a Mahogany Top and Openwork Gallery, Neoclassical Style, in the Manner of Jacques Adnet, Circa 1960

This guéridon features a circular top in varnished mahogany, set in a moulded brass frame and girdled by a high openwork gallery with motifs pierced in festoons. The tripod base, called « à la militaire », crosses three slender legs joined in a bundle by a central gadrooned ring, before falling into spinning-top feet set on small balls. This model of tripod guéridon with a gallery, directly inspired by neoclassical athéniennes, is a classic of French productions of the 1960s, in the spirit of Maison Jansen or Maison Baguès, whose small occasional furniture in brass accompanied the most elegant sitting rooms. Condition report: Good general condition. Brass with a warm gilt patina, mahogany top with well-preserved varnish. A precious small guéridon, beside an armchair or as a side table near a sofa.
