DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This magazine rack features a quadrangular brass structure on which two curved sides composed of broad straps of black leather, saddle-stitched with pale thread, form a supple basket to hold newspapers and magazines. The carrying handle, in a leather strap, fastens with a brass belt buckle, a nod to the vocabulary of saddlery.
Saddle-stitched leather combined with brass is the signature of Jacques Adnet, the great French decorator who made stitched leather sheathing one of the major refinements of the 1950s; this magazine rack allows the piece to be stylistically linked to that highly sought-after repertoire.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Supple leather with a beautiful deep black patina, sound stitching, brass with an even gilt patina. An accessory of character, to slip beside a sofa, a club armchair or in a study.
