DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

The gilt brass structure precisely imitates the nodes and internodes of bamboo: a large arched handle, uprights and small curved feet. The two inclined flanks, forming magazine compartments, are fitted with framed panels presenting under glass antique engravings heightened with colour, depicting lively captioned views of Italy. Gilt faux bamboo is one of the favourite motifs of Maison Baguès, the Parisian reference in gilt brass and bronze, which declined it on its lighting and small furniture in a chinoiserie spirit much prized by decorators, as far as the Neoclassical taste. Condition report: Good overall condition. Gilding slightly patinated, engravings fresh under their glass, possible surface micro-scratches. A refined and functional object, to place beside a library armchair or a sofa.
