DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This pedestal table presents a circular top of lightly smoked glass, set into a moulded frame and encircled by a tall openwork gallery with pierced festoon motifs. The tripod base, called "à la militaire", crosses three tapered legs gathered into a bundle by a central gadrooned ring, before falling into arrow feet set on small balls — a direct quotation from the Neoclassical vocabulary.
This model of modern athénienne is a classic of French productions of the 1960s, in the spirit of Maison Jansen or Maison Baguès, whose tripod brass pedestal tables accompanied armchairs and sofas in the most elegant salons.
Condition report: Good general condition. Brass with a warm gilt patina, gallery complete; glass may present probable surface micro-scratches. A precious little pedestal table, by an armchair or as a refined plant stand.
