DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This coffee table stacks two black lacquered glass tiers with deep reflections, set within moulded brass frames. The four fluted uprights, topped with small brass balls and ending in ball feet, articulate the silhouette with a rigorous verticality, the contrast of the black lacquer and the gold of the brass giving the whole a very assertive graphic elegance.

This dialogue of brass and black glass, treated with a wholly Neoclassical refinement, is characteristic of the productions of Maison Jansen, the great Parisian decorating house founded in 1880, supplier to royal courts and the most prestigious residences, whose coffee tables are among the most sought-after classics on the market.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Brass with a fine gilded patina, black lacquered glass possibly showing likely surface micro-scratches inherent to use. A chic and timeless coffee table, the pivot of a classical as well as a resolutely contemporary living room.
