DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
Each armchair features a wraparound rattan basket shell, whose bent stems radiate in a fan from the seat to the rounded back, held by bent frames and careful lashings; a loop underlines the start of the armrests. The shell rests on a black lacquered metal splayed base with tapered legs, terminating in pale feet, which gives the silhouette a thoroughly modernist lightness.
This dialogue of the rattan shell and the metal base is emblematic of the 1960s, in the spirit of the productions of Rohe Noordwolde and the basket armchairs popularised by Dirk van Sliedregt, which married the warmth of basketry with the modernity of black metal.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Sound rattan with a fine blond patina, stems complete, even black lacquer of the base, feet present. A graphic and comfortable pair, to be dressed with seat pads, in a living room or a bedroom with a fifties spirit.
