DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This guéridon features a circular mahogany-stained wooden top, encircled by a tall openwork brass gallery with repeated motifs that also make it a secure serving tray. The fluted central shaft, punctuated by a gadrooned knop at its base, rests on a tripod base with elegantly curved feet ending in scrolls.

This formula of the guéridon with central shaft and openwork gallery, inherited from the coffee tables of the 18th century, was taken up with refinement by French workshops of the 1950s–1960s, in the spirit of the occasional pieces of the Jansen and Baguès houses, perfect companions for elegant drawing rooms.

Condition report: Good general condition. Brass with a beautiful gilt patina, the wooden top showing slight marks of use, gallery intact. A practical and charming guéridon, as a side table or a tea table beside an armchair.
