DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This floor lamp is made entirely of brass, shade included, which gives it a strong unity of material and a warm golden sheen. Attributed to Maison Charles, circa 1960. It stands 150.5 cm high on a footprint of 45 × 45 cm. The metal shade, rather than a fabric one, directs the light and becomes an integral part of the lamp's design. In the 1950s and 1960s, brass established itself as one of the favoured materials for decorative lighting, in keeping with the period's taste for streamlined forms and bright finishes. This floor lamp sits comfortably in a mid-century interior as well as in a more classical setting, beside a sofa, an armchair or a desk.
