DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This desk lamp features a cylindrical fluted shaft in gilt brass, flaring into an ogee at its base, resting on a square base entirely sheathed in dark brown leather with saddle stitching. The oblong oval shade, sheathed in brown leather underlined with light topstitching along the edges, directs the light onto the work surface while protecting the eyes.
The combination of saddle-stitched leather and gilt brass is the signature of Jacques Adnet, a major figure of 1950s French decor, who raised leather sheathing to the rank of decorative art, notably in his collaborations with Hermès; this lamp belongs fully to his style.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Brown leather with a fine, deep patina, intact topstitching, even gilt brass. Wiring to be checked before use. An elegant and functional desk lamp, perfect on a writing desk or a work table.
