DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This chandelier takes the form of a gilt metal basket suspended by three chains gathered beneath a foliate canopy. The central basket, animated with spring-coil scrolls and cut-out foliage, is filled with a bouquet of roses and small flowers in polychrome porcelain in tones of pink, white and yellow. Six foliate light arms radiate around the basket, ending in corolla-shaped sockets and faux candles.
This type of flowered chandelier, combining gilt metal and porcelain flowers in the manner of the productions of Saxony or Sèvres, illustrates the Romantic taste of the turn of the century, which prolonged in lighting the rocaille tradition of precious bouquets.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Gilding with a soft patina, porcelain flowers well preserved on the whole, consistent with the age of the piece. Wiring to be checked before use. A charming light fixture, for a bedroom, a boudoir or a romantic dining room.
