DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This rattan table lamp is French work by Louis Sognot, circa 1950. It measures 17 cm wide, 17 cm deep and 33.5 cm high, compact proportions suited to a bedside table, a shelf or a desk. Rattan, a supple and light material, lends itself to curved forms and gives the object a warm texture. The decorator Louis Sognot was among the French designers who combined rattan with modern design in the mid-twentieth century. In this period, woven natural materials made their way into interiors, from holiday homes to city apartments, reflecting a taste for a gentler modernity. This lamp sits well with rattan or wooden furniture as with a contemporary setting.
