DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

The lamp is centred on a stylised horse head in bronze with a gilt patina, treated in full polished masses, the mane coiling into an elegant scroll beneath the neck. It rests on a moulded circular base and a quadrangular onyx base with amber veining; above, a gadrooned baluster shaft with stacked rings carries the light. Black fabric drum shade with a gilt interior diffusing warm lighting.

This horse-head model belongs to the animal repertoire of Maison Charles, the great Parisian bronze-makers' house whose sculptural lamps of the 1960s-1970s, mixing chased bronze and hardstones, rank among the most emblematic of the genre.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Bronze with a beautiful nuanced gilt patina, onyx with no visible chips, shade remade to measure. Electricity checked by an electrician. A lamp of character for an entrance console, a desk or a library.
