Oval Table Lamp in Orange Resin Inlaid with Wooden Sections. Italian Work. Circa 1970

This ambient lamp presents itself as a half-cylindrical screen in translucent orange resin, in which are inlaid fine bamboo sections sliced into ovals, forming a regular scattering over the entire surface. Lit, the interior light source sets the resin ablaze with an amber glow and brings out, in shadow play, the rings of the bamboo - a very enveloping lantern effect.

This technique of inlaying natural materials in resin is typical of the 1970s, a decade that readily mingled the pop aesthetic with organic materials, in the spirit of the creations of the period between design and decorative art.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Sound resin with a fine depth of colour, surface that may show probable usage micro-scratches. Electricity checked by an electrician. A singular ambient lamp, which diffuses a soft and sunny light in a living room or a bedroom.
