Large Design Chrome Coffee Table with Glass Shelves

A large design coffee table in chromed metal with glass shelves, made circa 1970. The chromed frame, with its crisp lines, carries glass shelves whose transparency visually lightens a piece of substantial size. The interplay of gleaming metal and clear glass lets light and the eye pass through, so that the table can anchor the centre of a living room without crowding it.

Chrome and glass are among the emblematic materials of 1970s design, which sought modernity, lightness and understated luxury all at once. Combined in a coffee table of this size, they offer a generous surface for books and objects, while sitting comfortably with modern sofas or more classical furniture. A generous piece for a spacious living room.
