DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

The circular top, of fine thickness, is entirely fashioned from braided rope coiled in a concentric spiral, its edge underlined by a plaiting in thick twists that gives the disc all its sculptural presence. It rests on three slightly flared compass legs in solid dark brown stained wood, with a frank and stable stance.

This coffee table is characteristic of the creations of Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, whose Golfe-Juan workshop made braided cordage a furnishing material in its own right; their rope coffee tables, simple and tactile, are among the most emblematic pieces of the Riviera taste of the 1950s-1960s.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Complete and sound braiding with a nuanced blond patina, solid wooden base with wear from use at the feet. A warm coffee table, perfect in front of a sofa in a natural and bohemian interior.
