DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
Pair of black lacquered bronze sconces adorned with lion heads. The lion motif enlivens the dark surface of the bronze and gives the sconces a character that is both decorative and assertive, underlined by the black lacquered finish. French work, circa 1970.
The lion head, a motif inherited from the classical repertoire, was widely reinterpreted in 20th-century decorative arts. Paired here with a black finish, it suits a Mid-Century Modern interior as well as a more classical setting. Placed on either side of a fireplace, a mirror or a console table, these sconces bring symmetry to a wall and provide ambient light.
