DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This pair of bronze wall lights takes up the vocabulary of the Louis XVI style, the French neoclassicism of the late eighteenth century, marked by symmetry, restraint and references to antiquity. French work by Lucien Gau, circa 1900. Each wall light measures 30.5 cm wide, 13 cm deep and 31.5 cm high. Around 1900, Parisian bronze makers produced many lighting fixtures inspired by the great models of the eighteenth century, perpetuating the skills of casting, chasing and finishing bronze. These wall lights belong to that tradition of furnishing bronzes. Offered as a pair, they lend themselves to a symmetrical arrangement on either side of a fireplace, a mirror or a console table, in a classical or more contemporary interior.
