DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This pair of decorative wall sconces in patinated metal depicts sunflowers surrounded by foliage, a naturalistic decoration that turns each light into a wall ornament in its own right. French work, circa 1940. Each sconce measures 36 cm wide, 23 cm deep and 64 cm high, generous proportions that give them a strong presence even when unlit. Plant motifs played an important role in French decorative arts in the first half of the twentieth century, when stylised flowers and foliage enlivened lighting, ironwork and objects. The sunflower, a solar motif par excellence, is particularly well suited to an object meant to spread light. Offered as a pair, these sconces will find their place in a living room, a dining room or an entrance hall.
