Pair of Bronze and Wrought Iron Wall Lights Representing a fruit Bowl

This pair of bronze and wrought iron wall lights depicts a fruit bowl, a subject borrowed from still-life painting and transposed here into a lighting fixture. French work, circa 1970. Each wall light measures 22.5 cm wide, 10 cm deep and 46 cm high. The combination of bronze and wrought iron plays on contrasting materials and tones, while the figurative motif gives each light a strong decorative character, even when unlit. In the 1970s, many French workshops returned to a naturalistic, decorative repertoire, alongside the more geometric design of the decade. Offered as a pair, these wall lights will naturally find their place in a dining room, a kitchen or a living room.
