DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This set of four bronze wall sconces takes up the vocabulary of the Louis XVI style. French work, circa 1940. Each sconce measures 16.5 cm wide, 10 cm deep and 35.5 cm high. The Louis XVI style, the French neoclassicism of the late eighteenth century, favours symmetry, restraint and references to antiquity; bronze makers continued to revisit it throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, particularly for lighting. Models from the 1940s carry on its elegance with proportions suited to the interiors of their time. As a set of four, these sconces make it possible to light a room evenly: two on either side of a fireplace and two on the opposite wall, or spread along a corridor or gallery. They suit a living room, a dining room or a bedroom, in a classical or contemporary setting.
