DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This pair of bronze wall lights takes up the vocabulary of the Louis XVI style, with ribbon decoration. French work, circa 1950. Each wall light measures 29.5 cm wide, 12 cm deep and 43.5 cm high. The Louis XVI style, the French neoclassicism of the late eighteenth century, favours symmetry, restraint and references to antiquity; bronze makers continued to revisit it throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, particularly for lighting. The tied ribbon, one of its most recognisable motifs, lends a note of lightness to the bronze. Offered as a pair, these wall lights lend themselves to a symmetrical arrangement on either side of a fireplace, a mirror or a console table. They suit a living room, a dining room or a bedroom, in a classical interior or a more contemporary setting.
