DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This pair of gilt bronze wall sconces takes up the vocabulary of the Louis XV, or Rococo, style. French, circa 1970. Each sconce measures 22 cm wide, 11 cm deep and 29 cm high. The Louis XV style, developed in France in the first half of the eighteenth century, favours curves, movement and motifs inspired by nature, breaking with the rigour of the previous century. Gilt bronze, the material of choice for furnishing bronze makers, conveys its brilliance and liveliness. This repertoire has been revisited ever since, notably for lighting. Offered as a pair and of modest size, these sconces lend themselves to a symmetrical arrangement on either side of a bed, a mirror or a console table.
