DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This pair of plaster wall sconces reflects the interest of inter-war decorators in this simple, matt and luminous material. French, circa 1940. Each sconce measures 41 cm wide, 21 cm deep and 36 cm high. Plaster, valued for its texture and whiteness, softens light and gives it a diffused quality. In the 1930s and 1940s, a number of French decorators made it a material in its own right for lighting and objects, far removed from its workshop uses. Generously sized, these sconces bring a discreet sculptural presence to a living room, a bedroom or an entrance hall, and sit well with a contemporary interior as with period furniture.
