Stilnovo

This pair of Stilnovo wall sconces combines bronze with worked glass reflectors that diffuse and enliven the light. Italian work, circa 1960. Each sconce measures 32 cm wide, 16.5 cm deep and 27.5 cm high. Stilnovo, the Italian lighting company, is associated with post-war design, which made Italy one of the great centres of modern lighting. In the 1950s and 1960s, Italian designers explored new ways of modulating light by combining metal and glass, seeking a balance between function and expressiveness. Offered as a pair, these sconces sit naturally in a mid-century interior and bring a touch of Italian design to a living room, a bedroom or a corridor.
