DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
Each sconce features an inclined stem worked in a twist, in the manner of a torch, ending in a tapered point and supporting a wide cup-shaped bobeche in beaten iron. A red faux drip candle crowns the socket and brings a warm note to the whole. The quatrefoil wall backplate, cut and pierced, anchors the composition in the vocabulary of chateau ironwork.
This set belongs to the neo-medieval taste of the 1950s, when French ironworkers brought torcheres and torches of haute-epoque spirit back into fashion for rustic interiors, chalets and houses of character. A complete set of six identical sconces is a rare opportunity for a whole-scheme project.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Wrought iron with an even dark patina, superficial oxidation inherent to the material, faux candles showing use. Electricity checked by an electrician. Perfect for punctuating a vaulted room, a stairwell or a covered terrace.
