DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
Each sconce unfolds from a rectangular hammered backplate a sheaf of long lanceolate leaves finely engraved with veins, between which wind stems flowering with naturalistic full-blown roses and small cut leaves. Two discreet arms carry the lights with flower bobeches, integrated into the floral composition. The nuanced gilding plays with golden-brown reflections on the hammered metal.
This mastered naturalistic exuberance, where the light melts into the sheaf decor, is characteristic of French gilt ironwork of the 1940s, contemporary with the productions of the great Parisian workshops that then made gilt iron the elegance of hushed interiors.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Gilding with a warm patina of use, faux candles showing use. Electricity checked by an electrician. A vertical and poetic pair, ideal on either side of a mirror or in a refined bedroom.
