DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
Each sconce consists of a spray of gilt stems depicting reeds and brown-patinated bulrushes, springing in a fan from a foliate wall backplate. Two curved light arms stand out from the bouquet, receiving wide disc-shaped cups fitted with faux candles. The metal, worked in cut and gilt tole, plays on effects of material between smooth stems and velvety spikes.
This decorative naturalism is characteristic of Italian work of the 1970s, heir to the Florentine productions of gilt iron, which rendered the vegetal theme with fantasy in the spirit of the Neoclassical taste brought back into fashion by international decoration.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Gilding with an even patina of use, slight wear possible on the reliefs. Electricity checked by an electrician. A pair full of charm for a hallway, a bedroom or an elegant country entrance.
