DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This octagonal dish is worked in dinanderie, the metal enhanced with green, black and silver lacquers composing a resolutely cubist decoration: the rim is punctuated with a frieze of zigzags and silvered rectangular reserves, while the well unfolds an abstract composition of diagonals, sinuous waves and concentric arcs of a circle of great modernity. A signature is applied in the well. This geometric vocabulary and these contrasts of coloured lacquers on metal are emblematic of Art Deco dinanderie of the 1930s, in the line of the great French dinandiers who made this art of hammered and lacquered metal one of the summits of the decorative arts of the interwar period. Condition report: Good overall condition. Lacquers well preserved with bold colours, minor marks of use, sound metal. A strong decorative piece, to hang or to place, that concentrates all the graphic spirit of Art Deco.
