DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

A pair of side tables of confident mid-century design, each composed of a square glass top resting upon a structure of polished chrome and brass that combines geometric clarity with a refined warmth of material. The frames, of square-section chrome tube, are accented with brass detailing at the joints and lower shelf supports, lending an air of considered luxury to what might otherwise be a strictly functional form. Each table presents harmonious proportions ideally suited to flanking a sofa or anchoring a conversational grouping.

The integration of chrome, brass and glass in furniture design reached its apogee in France during the 1970s, when decorators and workshop craftsmen alike sought materials capable of conveying both modernity and opulence. These tables reflect that sensibility with admirable economy: their structure reads as an exercise in controlled geometry, while the interplay between the cool reflectivity of the chrome, the warm lustre of the brass, and the transparency of the glass creates a visual dynamism well in excess of their modest scale.

In very good condition consistent with age, with minor wear to the chrome consistent with five decades of use. The glass tops are intact and clear. Sold as a pair, these tables offer exceptional versatility, functioning equally as side tables, occasional tables, or bedside tables in both period and contemporary interiors.
