DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

Each armchair features an enveloping horseshoe back, extended by the armrests, resting on a structure in burnt bamboo patinated as faux tortoiseshell, in amber and brown shades. The back is adorned with openwork panels with lattices and geometric interlacing of Chinese inspiration, the apron takes up this openwork decor, and the rod base is joined by doubled stretchers. The seat receives a comfortable cushion fitted with light blue sprigged fabric.

This model, known as "Brighton Pavilion", refers to the Chinoiserie taste of the famous royal pavilion at Brighton fitted out for George IV, whose faux tortoiseshell bamboo armchairs became a classic of Anglo-Saxon decor, brought back to honour by 20th-century decorators in the Chinese Chippendale spirit.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Even and shimmering faux tortoiseshell patina, sound structures, clean cushions which can be reupholstered to current taste. A decorative and comfortable set, around a games table, in a veranda or a dining room of Chinoiserie spirit.
