DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

Each sconce features a cut and repoussé plate depicting a standing figure in finely chased costume: the man wearing a top hat, hands on his hips, and the woman in a dress with large floral motifs, in a folk-art spirit. On either side spring two sinuous brass light arms ending in candle nozzles, fitted with faux candles with a melted-wax effect. This figurative decoration full of fancy, which evokes folk imagery and the Neoclassical taste revisited, is characteristic of the decorative productions of the 1950s, when French workshops rendered picturesque subjects in chased brass to animate interiors. Condition report: Good overall condition. Brass with its original gilded patina, old faux candles showing traces of use that add to the charm of the whole. Wiring to be checked before use. A pair full of wit for a corridor, a child's room or an interior of character.
