DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

Each sconce is centred on a parrot in cut moulded glass, set on a faceted horn dressed in mirror and finishing in a gilt shell base. On either side, two gilt brass light arms unfurl in foliate scrolls enhanced with crystal flowerets and faceted drops, each receiving a bobèche with a scalloped collar and a drip-effect candle sleeve. The crystal bird against a mirrored ground is one of the most famous motifs of Maison Baguès, the great Parisian house of gilt bronze and brass lighting whose creations, prized from the inter-war years onwards, embody the Neoclassical taste. These parrot sconces rank among its most sought-after models. Condition report: Good overall condition. Even gilding with a patina of use, moulded glass and drops with no visible damage, possible surface micro-scratches inherent to age. Wiring to be checked before use. A whimsical pair, ideal on either side of an entrance mirror or a fireplace.
