DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This imposing lamp takes the form of a neoclassical urn in white enamelled ceramic with a fine crackle glaze. The ovoid body is dressed with festooned drapery modelled in relief, beneath a Greek frieze running along the shoulder between two stylised lateral handles. The urn rests on a moulded footed pedestal and a square base. It is crowned by a large black conical shade that underlines by contrast the whiteness of the ceramic. This monumental interpretation of the antique vase — drapery, Greek frieze, crackle — belongs to the great neoclassical current of the 1970s, when decorators brought Greco-Roman forms back into favour in light and sculptural materials. Condition report: Very good condition. Ceramic with no visible damage, original crackle glaze even throughout, shade in good condition. Wiring to be checked before use. A spectacular lamp, perfect on an entrance console or a drawing-room chest of drawers.
