DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
The central tubular shaft is entirely sheathed in black leather, framed by two wide straps of saddle-stitched leather that curve in a lyre from the base to the top, punctuated with brass equestrian medallions evoking harness ornaments. The circular base, also sheathed in leather, anchors the whole, while the gilt light collar introduces a precious contrast beneath the black drum shade.
Saddle-stitched leather enhanced with brass is the signature of Jacques Adnet (1900-1984), the great French modernist who, at the head of the Compagnie des Arts Français, made equestrian-inspired leather sheathing an art in its own right, even in his famous collaboration with Hermès.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Supple leather with a beautiful patina, saddle stitching intact, patinated brass medallions. Wiring to be checked before use. A floor lamp of character, perfect in a study, a library or a club-style living room.
