DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
A unique decorative plaster mirror with fruit decoration. The moulded plaster frame surrounds the glass with fruit in relief, giving the piece a sculptural presence. The matt finish of the plaster and the play of volumes catch the light softly, changing with the lighting of the room. French work, circa 1970.
Plaster, a traditional material for architectural ornament, was widely taken up by twentieth-century decorators for mirrors, lighting and freely shaped objects. The fruit motif, inherited from the classical repertoire of garlands and baskets, takes on a generous decorative character here. This mirror will find its place in an entrance hall, dining room or living room, where it brings relief and character.
