DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
A decorative mirror with a gilt faux-bamboo frame and printed floral decoration. The frame takes up the characteristic nodes and segments of the bamboo cane, rendered in gilt, while the floral decoration adds a light, colourful note to the whole. Circa 1970.
Faux bamboo belongs to the taste for the Far East that has run through European decorative arts since the eighteenth century, and which enjoyed renewed popularity in the 1960s and 1970s. Paired here with a floral motif, it gives the mirror a fresh, decorative character typical of interiors of the period. Of modest size, this mirror suits a bedroom, a bathroom or an entrance hall, and fits easily into a wall arrangement of several mirrors.
