DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
The oval frame is entirely fashioned in tightly braided rope, bordered with a thick twisted cordage, and animated by a decor evoking the equestrian world: a braided conical pediment, metal rings held by loops, bridles and straps of tan leather arranged as pendants, down to the cut-out leather drop at the bottom. The oval mirror plate is set in reserve at the centre of this tactile composition.
This work in rope is the signature of Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, based in Golfe-Juan, whose hemp and rattan creations of the 1950s embody the Mediterranean and bohemian spirit of the post-war Côte d'Azur; their equestrian-themed mirrors are among their most sought-after pieces.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Sound rope with a nuanced blond patina, supple and patinated leather, old mirror plate which may show slight foxing or micro-scratches. A charming mirror for an entrance hall, a bedroom or a seaside house.
