DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
The body of the log holder is entirely woven from thick braided rope over a core, forming an open cradle whose walls rise up, coiling into rolls on the sides. A wide handle in thick black leather, cut out in a lively ogee, spans the whole and allows the logs to be carried; small wooden feet isolate the bottom from the floor.
This combination of braided rope and leather is in the spirit of the creations of Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, whose Golfe-Juan workshop fitted out the entire house in hemp cordage in the 1950s; this log holder takes up their warm and functional vocabulary.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Complete and solid braiding with a nuanced blond patina, supple leather with a beautiful patina from use. A fireside accessory as practical as it is decorative, which will warm a fireside corner or serve as a basket for throws.
