DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This coffee table features a thick circular onyx top with clouded veining mingling honey, cream and amber tones, set within a gilt bronze rim treated in imitation of bamboo. The base spreads two X-shaped crosspieces in faux-bamboo bronze, finely chased with knots, joined by a high stretcher that ensures the rigidity of the whole.
Faux bamboo in gilt bronze is the most famous signature of Maison Baguès, the great Parisian house of art bronze founded in the 19th century, the absolute reference in gilt bronze and brass, a figure of neoclassical taste; the pairing with onyx makes this a particularly luxurious piece.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Sound onyx with beautiful translucent nuances, gilt bronze with an even patina. A precious and warm coffee table, a centrepiece for an elegant sitting room.
