Each sconce depicts a brass torch with a tapering shaft underscored by rings, including a beaded ring beneath the bobèche, and ending in a point with a small seed. The torch, mounted at an angle on an oblong wall plate, carries a frosted glass tulip with a flared neck that diffuses a soft and even light.

This motif of the Neoclassical torch, treated with sobriety and finesse, recalls the taste of Maison Jansen, the great Parisian decorating house founded in 1880, whose brass and glass sconces dressed the corridors and salons of the most elegant interiors.
