DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
This cylindrical vase presents a slightly irregular cylindrical body, covered with a black enamel with metallic reflections and a deliberately textured surface, scratched and lumpy, of volcanic appearance. The neck blazes with a wide drip of bright orange enamel, which overflows in irregular fringes over a dark green zone, creating a striking contrast between lava and fire.
This expressive ceramic is part of the Italian Brutalist current of the 1960s, which can be stylistically related to the spirit of Marcello Fantoni, the Florentine ceramist famous for his pieces with ardent enamels, or to the productions of Bitossi. The material prevails over the form, in a deliberately telluric aesthetic.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Sound and vibrant enamels, original texture intended by the ceramist, without notable visible chip. A characterful piece, on its own or in an accumulation of ceramics, on a sideboard or a library.
