DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT

This sunburst mirror spreads a crown of long tapering rays in gilt metal, alternating lengths and thicknesses to animate the composition with a vibrant rhythm. At the centre, a convex mirror known as a « witch's eye » offers its characteristic panoramic vision, set within a frame underlined by an elegant gilt twist. The sunburst mirror with a witch's eye is inseparable from the Chaty workshop in Vallauris, whose creations of the 1950s-1960s made this motif a classic of French decoration; this piece allows the work to be stylistically linked to that solar repertoire much sought after by collectors. Condition report: Good overall condition. Even gilding, sound convex mirror offering a beautiful reflection, possible very slight pitting due to age. A radiant wall piece that will illuminate an entrance, a sitting room or a bedroom above a fireplace.
