DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT
The cylindrical body, entirely sheathed in grained black leather, is encircled by a brass ring on which slides an arrow-shaped cursor: it points to the initials of the days of the week and the gilt dates stamped on the leather, forming a rotating perpetual calendar. The interior, also sheathed, holds pencils and pens.
This marriage of sheathed leather and brass, applied to desk objects, allows this piece to be related to the taste of Jacques Adnet (1900-1984), the great French modernist whose desk articles in saddle-stitched leather, often issued with Hermès, defined the elegance of the 1950s desk.
Condition report: Good overall condition. Supple leather with a beautiful patina, gilding of the figures legible, rotating mechanism functional. A refined desk object, which will bring a vintage and masculine note to a worktable.
